Parvenu Grace

In this series of paintings, I used gold or silver leaf to create a subdued luster. The women in the artworks represent the nouveau riche—someone who has suddenly acquired wealth, power, or fame from a poor or humble background, but who is not yet accepted by or integrated into the higher social class. Each painting whispers a visual story about the woman.
