Summer Artwork
Well, here it is September already and it's 93 outside; the highs this week should be in the low 100’s. Believe it or not, it is cooling down in Arizona. I have been hiding in my studio all summer. I completed18 Paintings, most of them small. I only did one painting that was 36” x 36”, the rest are under 24”. I started a new 16”x16”x2” series during this summer that focused on floral arrangements that I purchased from my local grocery store. I wanted to express my love for nature, even if I had to bring it inside. I am calling this series “Walking on Sunshine”.
I'm excited to share some good news. The Arizona Commission on the Arts awarded me a grant to create four large paintings. I'm pretty excited about this. I have to admit it was scary to think I am now committed to painting large pieces, but then I realized I have painted 4’x5’ pieces before. I will post them on Facebook and Instagram so you can follow my progress. I love inviting you into my studio. Until next month, take care, love you, bye-bye.
